As part of implementing its 10 year Sports Facilities Strategy, Watford Borough Council is planning an exciting development of a part of Woodside Playing Fields.

 

The area to be developed is located to the North West of the Site, between Albans Woods and the Cricket and Football pitches, and contains the historic Woodside Lodge and Farm buildings.

In 2022 a detailed evaluation of various options was undertaken along with further consultation and following this work Council has approved the first phase of the project. This phase includes for the development of Watford Town Cricket Club and Watford Amateur Boxing Club facilities and renovating the buildings to provide energy efficient accommodation as well as spaces for shared community use.

 

There will also be modern and accessible changing rooms for the clubs based on the site, including the cricket and boxing clubs and the junior and adult football clubs.

 

Visitors to the site will also benefit from improved car parking, fully refurbished and modernised public toilets including a Changing Places room, and drinking fountains for visitors as well as their four legged friends.
